During this altercation, police say he allegedly fired multiple shots at the other vehicle.
A 34-year-old man was seriously injured and taken to hospital, reportedly spending days in a coma as a result of the shooting.

Arrest and Charges

Shebeshxt was arrested on 12 November 2025 at his home in Bendor, Polokwane, after a warrant was issued in connection with the incident.

He faces multiple serious charges, including

Attempted murder (several counts)

Possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition

Malicious damage to property

Assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm

Robbery with aggravating circumstances

Because some allegations date back to earlier cases and pending matters, prosecutors have upgraded his charges to Schedule 6 offences, which carry much harsher penalties if he is convicted.

Bail and Court Proceedings

Shebeshxt appeared in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court in November and again in December.
His defence argued his release on bail would bring joy and celebration to the whole country because of his celebrity status, and pointed to supporters in the gallery.
The state opposed bail, with police arguing he might continue committing offences or obstruct justice.
In mid-December, a magistrate denied Shebeshxt bail, ruling he failed to show exceptional circumstances for release. He will remain in custody through the festive season.

His next court date is scheduled for February 2026.

Authorities also raised concerns about Shebeshxt’s behaviour and lifestyle, including alleged drug addiction struggles, which were mentioned by police during bail hearings and which they said could lead to further offences if he were free.

Separately, he was already out on bail for other pending charges when this shooting arrest occurred, which influenced the court’s decision to deny further bail.

Victim’s Condition

One of the men allegedly shot by Shebeshxt was reported to have been in a coma for multiple days and remained hospitalized for weeks after the incident.
